This service involves installing a managed backup server or low cost NAS device on your site. This local backup server is the target for all your backups including external home workers. Your server is then configured to replicate the data to our central data server. This provides you with the speed and convenience of a local backup with the resilience and security that comes with online backup.

New version 5.5 features

Support for low cost NAS devices

A NAS module is now available in version 5.5. The server-side application, Backedup247 OBS, can now be installed on supported NAS device. The NAS device becomes an enterprise-class backup appliance and can be used to backup all the computers, database servers, and mail servers within a company. Since the cost of a NAS device is less than that of a regular server, it is an ideal backup solution for companies with a limited budget.

The NAS device can then be configured to replicate the data backedup to our secure online backup servers.

Active Directory Integration and Load Balacing

These features are intended for larger enterprises that have a large number of client computers to backup. The Load-Balancing feature enables a company to use multiple Backedup247 Offsite Backup Servers to better share available resources and improve performance and stability of the backup system. The support of Windows Active Directory helps reduce the work load of the system administrator in managing the backup user accounts within a company.

Remote backup start

If a system administrator has found missed backup jobs the job can manually initiate the backup job direct from Backedup247 Online Backup server interface.
